Carolyn Erickson Plummer’45, former Beloit College trustee, active community member; June 4, 2023, in Rockford, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Plummer’43, and brother, John E. Erickson’49. She is survived by one daughter and one son.
Allan F. Schneider’48, professor of geology emeritus, conservationist, and author; June 9, 2023, in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Betty Dorn Schneider’50, cousin, John M. Schneider’62, one daughter and two sons.
Alan W. Dunwiddie’49, former Beloit College trustee, U.S. Army veteran, retired bank president; June 1, 2023, in Janesville, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Jeffris Dunwiddie (1918), and is survived by his daughter, Jane Dunwiddie Duckert’75, and two sons.

Samuel D. Arnspiger’50, U.S. Marine veteran, retired investment banker; May 18, 2023, in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion Arnspiger, one son, and two daughters.
Jack C. Dierks’51, U.S. Navy veteran, retired literary agent; Aug. 13, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois.
George D. Dorst’51, WWII veteran, former owner of Model Laundry and Dry Cleaners; Aug. 16, 2023, in Stoughton, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Wilkes Dorst’49, brother, Claire V. Dorst’49, and sister-in-law, Mary Crowe Dorst’49. Survivors include two daughters and two sons.
Roger E. Miller’51, U.S. Navy veteran; June 21, 2022, in Delavan, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Miller, and is survived by numerous family members.
Elizabeth Sedlack Williams’51, active volunteer and community member; June 8, 2023, in Schenectady, New York. She was predeceased by her husband, Dale G. Williams’51, and brother-in-law, Robert S. Williams’50. Survivivors include her brother-in-law, William O. Williams’50, and three sons.
James A. Fitch’52, Korean War veteran, retired bank president; June 6, 2023, in Orland Park, Illinois. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn Quan Fitch’52, second wife, Elizabeth Wheeler Fitch’48, and a daughter. Survivors include his two sons and stepchildren.
Suzanne Schmitz Giannos’53, former teacher and office manager; July 9, 2023, in Salina, Kansas. Survivors include her daughter and son.
Howard D. Benson’54, retired owner of Benson Stone Company; May 25, 2023, in Rockford, Illinois. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sue Benson, and two sons.
Alexander Irvine’54, retired executive and former owner of the Book Bin; July 10, 2023, in Northbrook, Illinois. He was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis Arneman Irvine (1924), and father, Robert H. Irvine (1924). Survivors include his wife, Janis Zabel Irvine’54, brother, Robert Irvine’60, sister-in-law, Dorothy Christmann Irvine’61, one daughter, and one son.
William H. Knox’54, retired vice president with Ball Corporation; April 28, 2022, in Broomfield, Colorado. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Knox, and is survived by a daughter and a son.
Dale M. Anderson’55, U.S. Navy veteran, retired dentist and associate professor; Aug. 23, 2023, in Libertyville, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Emily Anderson, one daughter, and one son.
Stuart A. Bentley’55, U.S. Navy veteran, retired owner of Bentley Sales; June 2023, in Lombard, Illinois. He was predeceased by his wife, Arlene Barnett Bentley’55, and is survived by one daughter and two sons.
Edyth Allen Gibney’55, May 2022, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She is survived by her husband, John Gibney.
Mary Addoms Balson’56, accomplished pianist, instructor and performer; June 7, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Balson, and son, Daniel Balson’85. Survivors include her children, John A. Greenfield’89, Sarah Greenfield Pace’84, and Janet Balson’81, and sister, Elizabeth Addoms Lawrie’56.
Richard C. Hughes’56, retired teacher, basketball and golf coach; June 21, 2023, in Land O Lakes, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice, and is survived by one daughter and two sons, including Kent Hughes’86.
Suzanne Peterson Hiatt’57, Aug. 30, 2023, in Glenview, Illinois. Survivors include two sons, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Clint McKinven-Copus’82, executive director for Manistee Housing Commission; June 8, 2023, in Ludington, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laurie McKinven-Copus, and one daughter.

Dawn S. Baum’98, deputy general counsel for the Yurok Tribe, former adjunct professor of Indian law, recipient of the Beloit College Distinguished Service Citation; June 10, 2023, in Crescent City, California. She is survived by her parents, a brother, and numerous family members.

Adam P. Whiteley’10, musician and social worker; June 23, 2023, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Remley Whiteley’72, and is survived by his wife, Kate Finkbeiner, and two children.
